Mindfulness Sessions for Anxiety, Stress and Positive Thinking
With rapid changes to your body, hormones, and lifestyle, it’s very normal and common to feel anxious and stressed during a pregnancy. However, that doesn’t mean your pregnancy and birth should be a stressful experience! Here at Mindful Beginnings, I believe that every pregnancy should be an exciting and enjoyable experience, and as a natural part of life, birth shouldn’t be something to fear.
By practising mindfulness, stress and anxiety can be easily managed, and when given the right tools and techniques, pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood can be a thoroughly exciting and special experience - the way it should be.
What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness can be described as a means of achieving a calm and focused state of relaxation, where one can fully pay attention to thoughts, feelings, sensations and surroundings without judgement; observing instead of fixating. For example, when feelings of anxiety arise, it's okay to note that feeling, but to not let it dominate your perception; the ultimate goal is to bring about a calmer and more present state of mind.
Through my mindfulness classes, my aim is to help both expecting parents and those already with children practice positive and balanced thinking, where you can enjoy all that parenthood has to offer.
